The New Chandeliers, From Victorian to Contemporary and Beyond

Chandeliers are excellent for adding drama and style and are now visible in all sorts of homes, from modest cottages to sprawling mansions.

Chandeliers are often used in bedrooms today, to add to the luxury of bedroom d»cor. Mini chandeliers, commonly referred to as "chandelettes," are popular for lending an air of intimacy to smaller rooms or alcoves and some are even used as wall sconces.

 Choosing your Chandelier

Many individuals become confused when shopping for a chandelier. They often just don't know where to begin. Fortunately, selecting a chandelier can be easy.

Types of Chandeliers

Victorian - elaborate and ornate many times of stained glass.

Contemporary - Simple design and clean lines.

Gothic - Dark and heavy  remonsicent of castle lighting.

Simply select a color or material that stands out in the room you plan to light. Think about the style you are trying to convey. For example, if the room is decorated in a modern style, you'll want to choose a chandelier that is simpler and less ornate. For a more traditional room, you'll want a more elaborate look.
